Suggest Treatment For Abnormal Menstrual Bleeding

I started the Nora Be birth control pill about 4 months ago - ideally to stop my menstrual cycle. I am 46 years old with endometriosis, and have a heavy cycle. It hasn't lightened up yet. The nurse practitioner at planned parenthood told me to take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen every 8 hours for 5 days during my menstrual cycle. She said this may clean me out. Does this sound right? ? Thank you.
