Suggest Treatment For Abscess In Lower Colon

My son who had rectal colon cancer a few years ago, developed abscess in his lower colon, had surgery and did ok for about a month then got very weak, now has been told he has cellulitis at his reaction and needs surgery. He has list a lot of weight, now can not find a surgeon that takes his insurance. What is his chances without surgery?
