Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a diagnosis of bronchitis about2 months ago. However, I am several asthma attacks throughout the day. Chest Tightness, coughing, and shortness of breathe. IAm currently on qvar and Zyrtec. I have a rescue inhaler and a nebulizer to help ease the attacks. The attacks really do not seem to be completely helping the symptoms nor do I havey asthma symptoms undercontrol. I have never had asthma as a child for this just appeared with this bronchitis diagnosis. I have had a CTscan that came back ok for nothing major to see why I can t breathe. I sometimes have these attacks after I eat too. Hard to catch my breathe and coughing. The symptoms get worse at night and I feel like someone had sat on my chest every morning when I wake up. I was a very healthy individual before 2 months ago. My primary dr. Diagnosed me with acute bronchitis with asthma. I feel like if I had asthma it would better controlled with all I am doing. I am having bronchiospasms that send me coughing or I can feel the spasm happening and my breathing is shallow. I have these spasms like 20 times aday. I am frustrated because I can t get it undercontrol. I send 3-4 times a day on that nebulizer and it doesn t completely open me up to breathe normal. After 2 hours I am feeling tight again. What can I do and what does this mean?
