I have an open wound (ulcer) on the bottom, ball of my foot. I am diabetic type 2 and have been under doctors care for this. I have had infections on and off with antibiotic IV-pick line treatments, but there is one thing I cannot get an answer on. I get a watery clear fluid draining from it, with no ordor. I am continuously draining fluid from it onto pads daily. In addition, when I put pressure around the wound, I get a thick, opaque, gummy substance that comes to the surface. I squeeze it out, and clean it up, and cover it, as I do my own wound care. But I don't know what this gummy material is. One doctor told me it is white cells that have done their job and are being excreted. Or is this a natural healing process?
