I am 25 with a prescription of -8.75 with astigmatism. My eye doctor told me that lasik is not a good idea for me because of my prescription, and that laser is an older technology and to think about implantable lenses. He explained that with laser, because they shave off a layer of your eye, it doesn t leave anything to work with in the event of other surgeries needed. He suggested to opt for the implantable lenses instead. When I went for a consultation, the doctor at that clinic told me that implantable lenses are not a good idea for me because I am too young, that they perform this on patients 40 and up, and because someone with a strong prescription is at a higher risk of having their retina detach, and implantable lenses would increase that risk. They suggested lasik instead. I am getting opposite information, both sound convincing and I don t know how to believe.
