Suggest Treatment For Avoidant Personality Disorder

I am a retired mental health counseIor. I believe my thirty year old son has as an Avoidant Personality Disorder. He has been unemployed for several years because he can t tolerate being around people. He thinks he is a failure. All of the DSM IV criteria apply to him. My husband and I have tried everything we can think of to get help for him, but he refuses. Is there anything we can do to help him?
