Suggest Treatment For Blood Blister Behind The Ear

My husband has a blood blister that has formed behind his ear. It has been growing for over a week it doesn't hurt but is about the size of a grape. Last night I punctured it with a needle then cleaned it with alcohol. Today it is reforming. What should we do?
