Suggest Treatment For Boil Under Arm With Brown Discharge

i just had surgery for a boil under my arm, the doctor closed it but after my second visit to the doctor, after surgery. he told me a small portion had open. he suggested i get someeone and help me clean it twice a day. but i now have ah brown color of a puss substance coming out. my next doctor appointment isnt until next week. should i wait or is this a serious condition?
