Suggest Treatment For Bruise With Lump On Forearm

A bruise appeared on my forearm about the size and shape of a large lemon - it is at the blue stage in color - not hot and not painful but there is a lump in the middle of the bruise about 1/2 inch round that if pressed is uncomfortable. Do I need to see a doctor or should I apply cold/heat and wait and see?
