Suggest Treatment For Burnt Skin

My husband was grilling and a ember from the coals flew up and burned his shoulder. We put burn cream on. He has had to "pop" the bubble that formed and has white drainage. (burn cream was white) Area is swollen and a lump has formed. He is using warm compresses. Should he see a doctor?
