Suggest Treatment For Cataract And Diplopia With Vision Defects In Left Eye

I was recently diagnosed with a cataract left eye, diplopia left eye and Vitreous separation bilateral only 55 and can t see out of left eye at all. Just found out my real mothers dad went blind. Is there need for concerns or is this just part of aging?are there things I can do to prevent further damage?
