Suggest Treatment For Child Suffering From Fever

My grandson who is 5 years old has a fever of 105.1, he has been on and off with slight fever for about two weeks. My daughter calls his doctor and she tells her to give him motrin, but motrin is not working to well with him. I told her to take him to the hospital, so they can run test on him. please advise.
