Suggest Treatment For Chronic Costochondritis

I have been diagnosed with Chronic Costochondritis last year. Nothing seems to work.
I can't even walk 1/2 block without flaring up. The cost pain is on my chest & one on
my rich back side. I have an appointment with the Pain Management at my hospital next month.
They thinking of giving me a CORTISONE SHOT on my chest. Im willing to accept that but...
the shot is only a temp relief.
My question is, can I apply for social security benefit with this illness?
I cannot lift anything more than 15 lbs without having a chest pain.
Also, how big is my chance of getting a benefit using Costochondritis
as my reason.
I also have RA (ZERO NEGATIVE) on my left hand which is also hopeless.
