Suggest Treatment For Chronic Ear Pain And Infection

I have chronic ear pain/infections for 9.5 months that has not responded to 7 rounds of antibiotics. Very mild hearing loss and fluid coming out of ear for about 4 months. No TMJ (according to DDS) and CT/MRI of temporal bone are negative. According to a recent otologist I saw, my ear drums are stiff and cannot balance the negative pressure of my Eustachian tube. This otologist wanted to cut a hole in my ear drum and put a tube in it under local anesthesia only. I told him that I am extremely anxious and would prefer not to be a wake. He wasn t respectful of my preference even though I told him one CAN be put under for ear tube surgery. No contradictions to GA or IV sedation. I can be asleep for this surgery, right?
