Suggest Treatment For Chronic Hives?

I have been suffering with chronic hives now for over 1 year. I do not like taking prednisone, which the allergist had me on tapering doses. HE did blood work and the only thing that was 1 point below the range was my immune system. I am fed up with these hives. Is there anything else I can try?
