Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain Associated With Fibromyalgia
Hi. I have been dealing with constant pain for Lupus and fibromyalgia. This was diagnosed 3 years ago. We have tried all the antideppressants (Cymbalta etc.) Lyrica (suicidal) eventually last summer 2 things happened I was given Plaquenil which helped tremendously with the severe fatique, 50% of the time I couldn t get out of bed etc. I was taking Norco 10 mg. 4 times a day and my dr. wanted me to go to the pain clinic to see if they could do better for me, for long term pain management. I was put on extended release tablet 30mg. every 12 hours. It looked like I was given another miracle besides the Plaquenil. I wasn t on the roller coaster anymore of every 4-6 hours and i didn t wake up in terrible pain anymore waiting for the coffee and norco to kick in. But then after a few weeks I noticed I wasn t feeling as good anymore. The joint pain and muscle weakness was back and then to top it off the extreme fatigue came back with a vengence. Its like the morphine totally cancelled out all the good things the Plaquinel was doing. I am on Cellcept 3,000k mg. morning and evening the lupus is centered in my lungs. My question is obviously the morphine and I didn t go with my body chemistry like at first my dr. and I thought it would. What other long term pain medication is there for all the pain that isn t morphine? I know Norco was up and down but at least it worked and didn t interfere with the other medications. I called the pain clinic dr. but he is so booked I can t get into see him directly and I am very much in pain and sick. Please give me a possible list of other pain meds that I can ask my dr. about. I feel like just because the morphine didn t work I am on my own again. Thank you for any help you can suggest. Chris
