Suggest Treatment For Cold And Cough In A Child

Hi, my 5 year old is sick and all I have is Rite Aid nighttime sever cold and cough relief, she has all of the symptoms listed on the box and the box says to ask a doctor between the ages of 5 and 12 so I was wondering if it would be okay to maybe give her half of a packet or not?
