Suggest Treatment For Cough,cold And Throat Pain

I have a bad cold and I have been coughing a lot. Last night after about a half hour of non stop coughing I am having painful swallowing. It feels like something is at the back of my throat when I swallow. It feels like it moves when a swallow and is very uncomfortable. I have never felt anything like this before. I can still eat and swallow cold medicine.
