Suggest Treatment For Cyst On Ovary And Heavy Bleeding

I have had a cyst on my one ovary for years & last year was told I also had 2 more in my uterus as well as a polyp. This was diagnosed after having some bleeding between periods or during sex. The GYNO decided to leave them alone. I have been having normal periods other than when that happened a year ago. I finished my last period May 31st but then June 7th I started bleeding heavily & still am. My Dr. perscribed apo-mefenamic acid to slow it but after 5 days it hadn't worked & I am now taking Cyklokapron (500mg every 8 hrs) but it is still just as heavy (been taking for 3 days now). I go through a super tampon every 2 hrs & have bad cramps with pain going into my upper legs & side so also taking Advil. I did feel like I had a fever for a couple days but don't think I have it now. I am 53 yrs old with no signs of menopause thus far (that I know of). My Dr. wants a pelvic ultrasound once the bleeding has stopped but how long can this go on?
