Suggest Treatment For Degenerative Disc Disease

I have diminished L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc space. My orthopaedic had prescribed muscle relaxant which worked very well. But it had a side-effect from the next day in the form of acute diarrhea. After taking the medicine for 4 days my orthopaedic told me to stop it since my condition worsened. I am undergoing physiotherapy. But the pain is returning and gradually peaking to its former state. Is there anything that can be done?
