Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Getting Pregnant Despite Having Regular Periods

we are trying to conceive from past 8 months.still didnt get success. my periods are regular. is it normal? can we wait for another few months or need to check up with the dr? what are the tests needs to be taken? will it be painful? i am so scared.
