Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough Causing Pounding In Head

I have had a dry cough since Sat = no cold. have taken Clartin thinking it was alergies. Then I started taking Day Nyquil and night Nyquil but no results.. I think I need codeine like before. When I cough, my head pounds and hurts. What else can I do? Im planning to call dr on wed to ask for appt My email is YYYY@YYYY
