Suggest Treatment For Fever In Child

Our 22 month old has come down with a fever it came on very quickly - he was perfectly fine we went for a walk in the park maybe 45 minutes got back and he was very hot, hes skin is now quite red from head to toe and his eyes are bloodshot. He still seems very lively - any idea what might be wrong and should we run him to a doctor?
