Suggest Treatment For Flu, Fever, Sore Throat, Headache And Cough In Children

My children had the flu running 104 fevers 3 days ago, fever is gone but they still have sore throat, headache, cough. Doctor said 24 hr fever free before returning to school and they are fever free for 24 hour but should they return with other symptoms?
