Suggest Treatment For Genital Herpes

Hi i have recently got herpes from my partner which has hsv 1 and i now have it on my genital area. I consulted with a doctor and they prescribed valacyclovir and i took twice everyday but the pain remains the same and now i have more bumps with pus and my labia minora is now very swollen how can take the pain, swelling and bumps away ?
