Suggest Treatment For Growing Back The Removed Nail

Hi, I have a friend who suffered from a snake bite on the finger and had to have his fingernail removed. However, it's been already more than half a year, and the fingernail hasn't grown back yet. What are the chances it may grow back? or what treatment should be made? Thanks
