Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Migraines

I have two questions...first, I've struggled with daily headaches and migraines for years and I'm sick of being in pain and taking narcotics to try to control pain. Dr recently put me in propanalol and imatrex. Imatrex works good but only temporary. My pain is normally in front forehead or temples and behind eyes with eye moving hurting and um very sensitive to light and sound. Mt doc has referred to neurologist but haven't seen yet. What treatments are available? Suggestions?
Second question...my 15 year old daughter has also been having the same daily pain for approximately 3 months and she was also given propanalol but is not helping...suggestions for her?
