Suggest Treatment For Heartburn

Hello i took some joint care tablets a few weeks back cus i suffer form arthritus in my knees but after a couple of days they gave me heartburn so i stopped taking them and started using cod live roil caps instead,but now i've stopped them because my heartburn is still with me.I've tried Gaviscon,Rennies,baking soda,chewing gum,drinking water but i just can't seem to get rid of it.I'm avoiding the foods that it said not to have but makes no difference,please can you help me!
