Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Cold

My husband was running a fever yesterday of 101, and now it has dropped to 96 and he is sweating. We just assumed that he caught some sort of cold, but I am a bit concerned as to why his temp. dropped so low, when it is normally 98.6F. We live in a country that is not our own, which makes dealing with doctors a bit more difficult.
