Suggest Treatment For Inflammation Of Scalp

I was diagnosed with foliculitis decalvans and it is causing me to lose my hair. my scalp has become severely inflammed and its painful to by my head onto a pillow. my doctor is very poor at returning patients calls and his staff insists that i have an appt. next appt is weeks away. Years ago i was prescribed minicycline which worked well, then another doctor prescribed me with solodyn which worked for a month then stopped. Is there something else that is more effective? also, what can i can at home do to reduce or eliminate the inflammation on my scalp?
