Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods

I just recently stopped nursing as well as switching from a birth control that I could take while nursing to a non-nursing birth control pill. My periods have been a bit irregular and I believe I have experienced some spotting in between what should be my periods. How long can I expect this to last?
