Suggest Treatment For Itchiness On The Ear

Good morning. I have a 10yr old Jack Russell. She has been scratching both ears. I gently cleaned her ears with warm water and a q tip. There was a lot of dark gunk in both ears. I have a tube of Animax Ointment. Can I use this product in her ears?
