Suggest Treatment For Itching On The Nipples

I have been experiencing itchiness on one of my nipples for the past week or so. I have not experienced this before. I notice it most in the evening after showering or when I remove my bra for the day. I notice a small raised area that appears slightly whitish. Should I be concerned?
