Suggest Treatment For Kidney Stones
Hello Doctor,
My husband is having stone in Kidney & on 24.02.14 one stone of 5.2 mm moved down in the ureter and stuck in upper right ureter.He was having severe pain till 02.03.14 with continous vomitting & was given voveron injection in every 3-4 hours.. For 3 days he was given continous drip as he was not taking anything from mouth not even water. Yesterday the CT scan report says that it (stone) now move down further to mid ureter level & is around 96.5 mm away from urinary bladder. He is not having any pain since 03.03.14 i.e. yesterday but on 02.03.14 he had 99 fever which last for 15-20 minutes & subsides after giving him paracetamol. On 03.03.14 he had fever for the whole day which varies between 99 - 100 & it got subsidies in the night after 1 paracetemol.. Now since yesterday night he is not having any fever.Doctor is saying that he might have some infection thats why fever occured & in this case we have to do uretroscopy to remove the stone & have to implant strand. Simultaneously he says that the stone size is very small so it can come out automatically through urine also.Again he says if operation will not be done then harm could occur to kidney ( Like pus formation, failure, etc)
My husband is very scared as in 2008 strand was implanted to his left ureter for 3 months due to doctor mistake & that was very painful as every time whenever he urinate he had severe pain & was on bed for 3 months. the anesthetia given to him in spinal was also very painful & had its effect like severe headache, backache for months.
Sir, Please guide that is uretroscopy & strand implantation is necessary in the above case. Is there is really any danger to kidney? How long we can wait for the automatic removal of the stone through urine without under going operation process.
Medicine he is taking are: -
urimax 0.4 mg
oflox 400
pan 40
His urine routine report says - specific gravity = 1.010, ph = 6.50, protein = nil, glucose = nil, nitrite = negative, rbc = nil, pus cell= 2-3, epithelial = 1-2, casts = nil, crystals = nil, others = nil.
Urinay culture, KFT, CBC report awaited.
Today he has given injection - magnex fort & ani kaun. (Both twice a day) prescribed for 3 days.
