Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain Along With Swelling On Calves And Ankle

My left knee has been hurting for about 2 weeks. With inactivity it can cause my calve and ankle to swell. It hurts and is weak after being still. After I get moving a bit is is better, but still weaker than it should be. It hurts if do not take a anitinflamatory when I sleep. Icing does not make it feel better. I think heat works better - hot shower, for instance. There is some swelling on the left side of my knee. Help.
