Suggest Treatment For Large Bruise On Side Of Waist

Husband keeps developing a large bruise on his right side around his waist. He has had this happen a few times and not from bumping it. When the bruise appears it is about half the size of a fist. What can be causing this. He doesn t take any medications and is 48 years old.
