Suggest Treatment For Large Kidney Stone

I have an 11 mil. Kidney stone. It was painful for aout an hour. Had pictures taken that sowed the large stone have had no pain for over 2 days uroligist wants to operate next week. As he says stone that large very unlikely to pass. Although i am reluctant will do what i have to do. Please advise
