Suggest Treatment For Loose Toe Nail After Injury

a couple of weeks ago i smashed my big toe the nail filled with bllod and was throbbing. I drilled a small hole and drained the blood pain went away. now the nail is completely loose except for the base by the foot should it be removed or left to grow out? it's very loose and pulls right up
