Suggest Treatment For Low Grade Fever And Flu Like Symptoms

hi im 74 and have slight temp, cold like symptoms like slight stufy nose, achy, and a severe dry continious cough that has been going on the last 4 days. all through the night too. im very tired and have been taking ibuprophin, cough medicine, & eat very healthy with plenty of vitamins. i am worried if this is something more serious because of this very dry loud consistent cough around my family ndn3 yr old grandson. alsonwork full time and very active. i have had all my shots last fall for the flu, pneumonia, & shingles. i dont know if this could be more serious than an ordinary winter cold..possible this could be the whooping cough? kindest regards, frank callaghan
