Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Right Side Of The Head Near Ear

i have been getting thes sharp pains that lasts 2-5 seconds each, that come and go...it started 5 days ago..it was more or a neusence and the pain has gotten worse and more frequent. i got in a car accident yesterday and my neck is sore.



but my head still hurts, ive called in sick twice already bc i don't think i can work like this, i work as a respiratory therapist and didnt want to work when i couldn't give all my attention to my patients due to the pain. i called my doctor and she suggested ib profen like advil, and it has lessen the pain and frequency but when i stop taking the advil, the pain and frequency comes back..



i feel relief when i lay down, i feel the pain more and becomes more frequent when i walk. my friend has found a lump on the right side of my head near the base of my head behind my right ear. the lump is tender and she said is kind of red probably due to me pushing on it.



please let me knoe what i should do. my doctor said to take the ib profen and get some rest.
