Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Aunt has Lymphatic filariasis. She is on Penidure (12 Lack units) per 21 days and occassionally Augmentan of 625 mg and Bona Fied (2 Times per day). She is feeling weak and she is oozing lot more liquid than she was oozing before. She cannot handle compression and pumps. What do you suggest she should do to get relief? We are baffled why her doctors are not giving her Doxycycline (2003 Onwards Treatment) or Albendazole (1972 Onwards Treatment). Albendazole is usually marketed as Albenza among others, which is a benzimidazole medication used for the treatment of a variety of Non-Bacterial & Non-Viral foreign material infestations. It is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic.... Albendazole is used in conjunction with ivermectin, and with diethylcarbamazine. Do you have an Infectious Disease (ID) Specialist on staff?
