Suggest Treatment For Mole Like Lesions On Face

i have several moles and or freckles on my face. i gues im not completely sure what the difference is, but the moles i will be refering to have been there as long as i can remember, they are about 1/8'' in diameter and dark brown. over the course of the last 8 months 3 of these moles have puffed up (they are usually smooth to the touch) and have formed what i would describe as pimple, then days later dry up and sluff off completely leavig a lighter, smaller spot on my face. is this a normal reaction to maybe acne, or should i be further checked?
