Suggest Treatment For Nerve Damage In Eye

I have lost vision in my left eye and I was told that it was probably due to damage of the nerve from eye to brain. is there surgery, clinical trials, stem cell rejuvenation or whatever help I could get into--any hope at all for recovery at all?
