Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Foot While Having Bulging Disc

I have a bulging disc in my lower back that is pinching my sciatic nerve. I have numbness on the left side of my left foot and cannot stand on my toes. I have gotten x-rays and have seen a doctor. I have been doing stretching exercises but the numbness is still there. will this eventually go away?
