Suggest Treatment For Occasional Throbbing Headache

i have had an occasional throbbing headache on right side of my head for the past few days (on and off), my ear feels a bit hot and I have pain on the right side of my neck when I move my head from side to side. The neck pain is not constant. Is it possible that the pain I am experiencing is due to a neck strain or ear infection?
