Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling On The Ankles

Ok about five years ago I fell and broke my right ankle which ended up needing a ORIF done, so close to two yrs later I had to have the hard ware taken out (it was starting to work its way out) so the MD took out the plate with the ten screws and the four pins which were on the inside of the ankle. Problem I still have pain and the ankle still swells and at time I swear it is bruised also, the pain at times is horrible especially after doing a walk or just being on it, should I go back to the orthopod to see if there is something else going on or just ignore it?
