Suggest Treatment For Pain Behind The Knee Radiating To Buttock

i am having pain behind my left knee and the pain is also go along to my buttock, if i am lying down and raise my leg it hurt; can you tell me what is causing the pain and what is the best treatment for it or should i go to see a doctor? i would like to hear your answer.
