Suggest Treatment For Pain In Head And Hand After An Injury

My son was in a severe accident and had injuries in head, hands, and face. He wasn t complaining much about pain. T hey gave him naproxen. It really does not help the pain from trauma and appears to have no relief for hand injury either. What would you recommend for more immediate comfort?
