Suggest Treatment For Pain In Heel Radiating Towards Foot

I am a 54 year old female. I have severe pain the the left heel towards the right side of that foot. Sometimes the pain is so severe it hurts terribly to walk. I have a foot doctor that I have been to, but you know the age old problem of time to get there. Any suggestions? Thank you!
