Suggest Treatment For Pain In Hip Joint Beside Thigh

I have been doctoring for a year now with my hip pain. The ortho dr thought it was bursitis because the pain was in my hip joint on the side of my thigh. Hurt to press on it even. Tried cortizone 4 different times. First time worked great no pain for almost 5 months. The next 3 shots about 3 months apart each lasted little to no time. These were all done in the outer thigh hip joint. I have not yet done any cortizone shots into the actual hip joint. I have done physical therapy with temporary results. This last time we tried ultrasound therapy and after the first time the pain moved from my outer thigh hip joint, (bursitis region) to my actual hinge pelvis joint and has stayed there. I have very little strength in that leg and most of the time I need to physically pick up my leg to get into my vehicle. I am not able to put my socks on that foot or tie my shoe. This pain in my hip wakes me at night and Tylenol is what I use sparingly to deal with the pain. Can not take Ibprofen. 1 am 55 yrs old and have a little arthritis that shows up on the X-rays in that area but they do not believe that it is enough to cause the pain and weakness I have. Any suggestions on what else this could be and what to do next?
